Quantum Information Technology (QIT) is an innovative and rapidly developing global field of study, focusing on the microscopic quantum world that can enable new technologies, including: unbreakable cryptography, ultraprecision measurements, quantum computers.
Such developing technologies have the potential to revolutionise the modern world: from mobile phones to medicine, chemistry, and finance.
Quantum Information Technology Master’s programme in a nutshell:
- Introductory courses on Quantum Mechanics and its mathematical formalism.
- Courses on broad areas of quantum expertise: Quantum Cryptography, Signatures of Non-Classicality, Quantum Computing
- Courses addressing specific concepts and architectures, like Superconducting Qubits, Quantum Optics, Advanced Topics in Quantum Foundations, among others.
- Research and Master projects conducted in cooperation with active researchers and experts of international reputation
- (both from Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics and International Centre for Theory of Quantum Technologies, UG).
- Studying in an international interdisciplinary environment
- Developing a comprehensive set of skills regarding presentation, use of the English, and knowledge on commercialisation and start-up companies
DURATION: 2 years (4 semesters)
JOB PROSPECTS
- industrial and service companies that
-conduct R&D activities on the design and implementation of quantum technologies,
-implement quantum solutions, for example in secure communication and computing
